i never in a million years thought i would say this but lil wayne is my favorite rapper right now when i say never in a million years did i think i would say this, what i mean is.. wayne has been in the game for a long time but i was never really a fan i bought his first album.. he was a teen and i was a teen, i'm 2yrs younger than wayne.. so back then it was neat seeing someone my age drop an album the album was just like every other album from that era.. there really wasn't anything special about it in my opinion.. i remember really liking the song "come on" with b.g. but it really was just another album, a few decent songs, some duds, a bunch of lyrics about being in the hood and shooting people and whatever else i never really cared for wayne after that.. he nearly fell off the map for a while, then wayne started to get bigger and bigger over time.. then 2008 was like the year of lil wayne.. he was huge but the thing was, i still never cared.. i still didn't care for his music, thought it was just kinda wack.. not interesting, bars didn't do anything for me but then one day in 2015 i believe fwa came out which was "free weezy album" .. all i remember is people were saying he was going hard like "mixtape weezy" and so i gave it a listen i was really surprised at what i was hearing.. he was going really hard on whatever song i had listened to from there i just took note like "ok this guy is better than i thought" then one day i heard someone say the drought 3 was a good wayne album.. i gave it a listen and i was really surprised at how good he was spitting on there.. i particularly remember some line where he said something like "if u look in my book bag all you'll find is some cans of whoop a**" or something like that lol.. so i was not just peeping the lines and wordplay, i was also peeping the humor so at this point i was like wow this guy is nice.. but i was running into an isssue.. the issue was i didn't like his music that much.. so from there i just started reading his lyrics because i loved the lyrics but the music was just not my thing probably about 80% of the time.. maybe chalk it up to me not being big into trap, or me not being big into autotune so i was looking up his lyrics and they were always massively entertaining.. i remember one line i really liked was when he said "i got my guns drawn and i ain't talkin bout a sketch/ i only pay u dudes with reality checks/" lol.. i also liked another line where he said something about how his girl does more lines than a barcode lol so moving forward from there one day i heard dedication 6 which i think is a really good album.. i can do without the occasional three 6 talk he puts on that album.. (even the album cover is him throwing up the sign for three 6) however outside of that stuff, i think the album is amazing i really like the first track where he said something like "ima hit the red button/ blow this place to shreds, get my skateboard and shred somethin/" he also said something like "i'ma talk crazy to a deaf ngga/ and throw my set up to a blind man" or something.. it was crazy lol.. and i'm not saying it accurately, but whatever he said was pretty dope he just has so many quotables.. he has reached a level to where basically everything he says is a quotable i also listened to no ceilings 3 and he has a lot of great stuff on there as well (i still need to peep side b though) and i've peeped some of his other albums and basically.. for me, i feel that he has only gotten better and better with time, and i can say he's my favorite today because i've been able to find stuff i actually like to listen to.. like non trap and non autotune stuff.. i suppose rap in general is moving away from those things which imo is a good thing but anyway, his level of skill and his dedication have been incredible i could go on but i'll just say this.. i feel that wayne is the male goat and nicki is the female goat the quality of wayne's verses is just.. this guy's brain is out there man he's my favorite to listen to right now, he always entertains me like no other when i put his music on im different from traditional wayne fans really because i never got into him until like 2015 and i think he raps way better now than he ever did in 2008 or whatever here are a two examples of songs i like where he went in (listen to how he totally washed juelz santana on his own song smh)
