1st off.. do not watch this video if you can't stand bad language ice wrote a book called the ice opinion.. he even put out the audio-book version of it.. i peeped it back in about '06.. it was amazing.. this dude has some real street wisdom and real concepts that could help the youth this isn't a part of the book, but its a good example of his street knowledge today he is putting out a documentary on rap.. actually its already out.. its called 'the art of rap'
its in select theaters so i can't see it yet, however when it comes out on dvd or online i'll definitely try to watch it!!! i love ice-t.. very blunt but so real!

when is a band no longer a band ?
have you ever considered this question ? i think its kinda interesting like ok say you have a band like incubus.. incubus changed bass players in 2004 but incubus was still 'incubus' even with a different bass player what if the bass player and the drummer left? would it still be incubus? what if brandon boyd left? would it still be incubus? consider the band called orgy.. jay gordon is the lead singer.. i read somewhere that he wants to continue doing songs under the name 'orgy' however at this point he is the only original band member left if the band changed 3 members and the only original member left is the lead singer.. should they still use that band name? or is it more based on what part you play.. are bass players and drummers more expendable than guitarists? are guitarists more expendable than vocalists? how much can you change and still be the same? honestly its kinda bad but part of me thinks the lead singer is the most important part.. because that voice is the only 'instrument' that can't be replaced also.. if they wrote their own lyrics.. you can't recreate that style either but still i hate to think a drummer or a bass player or someone can be thrown under the bus so easily.. i hate to think they can be tossed aside its an interesting debate imo so i finally got the whole discography of loose ends loose ends is one of my favorite musical acts i first saw them on a bet retro thing in 2005 and i was AMAZED... it was the song 'hangin on a string' i looked them up on the internet and every song i heard was fly i was surprised i had never heard of them before.. but this was for 2 reasons.. 1 is because they are an 80s group.. and 2 is because they are british.. so their exposure here in the states was probably somewhat more limited than if they had been from here when i first saw them, what i liked about them was they had great r&bish songs but they have an undercurrent of positivity i bought zagora from tower records before it closed down.. i was madd happy i was able to find it.. i loved the album also i love the dynamic of two men and a woman.. the cocteau twins have that same dynamic.. you could probably say they are my two fave 80s groups.. its cool to look at this too.. both acts are british cocteau twins are white and very ethereal non-pop.. kinda almost depressing or something to help in the midst of depression loose ends are black and very happy positive pop music they are so much opposite sides of the spectrum but both great anyway.. glad i finally got each of their albums.. i don't really know why i never got them all.. i think it was hard to find them online.. but i got em' nowz!!!!! LETS GO!!!!! also i have to say.. the chick in loose ends is such a cutie!!! look at her in the blue lipstick in the video i posted abovez!!!!!!!!! OOOOH WEEEE!!!!!! get these albums if you can! ^
people shouldn't miss out on loose ends.. seriously great quality music .. very talented people! any readers of this website.. feel free to recommend music to me right now
doesn't matter what it is i decided to give background on some of the songs u see in the audio section of this site
i'm not doing this for any reason.. just for fun womenz - this song is a man's REAL view of women.. i get tired of being seen as a controlling tyrant just because i'm a male i said "maybe i am kinda possessive/ or u could say i like to keep what i'm blessed with/" in other words.. what u see as me being an evil controlling tyrant man is really just love and concern ++++++ life - i think i wrote this at work one day.. this song was just basic thoughts on life and struggles and finding meaning in them ++++++ guilty - i knew a girl who was very needy.. she was all over me i made this song kinda about her, just to show this is what would happen if i operated without a conscience.. the lesson comes in at the end when i say it was years ago but i still feel guilty.. its supposed to teach a lesson to men and women men- don't play women.. don't exploit a person's weak spot women- don't believe everything.. don't be gullible or blind or let ur feelings make decisions for u too much this song isn't a true story because i don't play women.. its just a warning for the listeners basically ++++++ a thin line - i sometimes have issues with girls where i love them and hate them simultaneously this song just explains some of that ++++++ no assistance - after a certain rejection i went into a mode of "i don't care what people think of me anymore at all on any level" the 2nd verse was less personal and more me talking to the listener asking them what they would do if they were rejected too my fave part is the last 2 lines "resist the control of the rest, escape it/ persist to the goal that u set, then take it/" ++++++ her - girl left me and it hurt i could barely talk about it without feeling sad which is why i didn't say much.. this song is an accurate representation of how i FELT when she didn't want to be with me ++++++ the friction - the song represents the 'friction' or tension in a tumultuous relationship.. that's why it sounds distorted.. its just like two people kinda at the end of their rope in a relationship ++++++ for devonz - each time i heard this beat i saw devon in my head so i just wrote some thoughts to her.. its not meant to be sentimental or anything, just a few honest words my fave part is where i said "u said my tunes were good back when nobody felt it" seriously no one shows any support to the guy at the bottom but sometimes someone does and it means a lot before i kick this off i want to say there is a real art to making a great character some of these games have creative directors whose minds are from mars and some of the other masterminds behind the others seem to have a background in comics and/or humor wherever a great character comes from, i always appreciate it.. i love it when a character is so dynamic or relatable or humorous or lively that they just seem to come off the screen or off the pages and live with you i LOVE characters.. a lot of you may not know this but i really do.. nothing can replace a good character in a good series and/or good environment people who make great characters usually have a deep-seated inspiration and they construct them and their surroundings as a labor of love characters whether they are in movies, books, games, comics, or otherwise mean so much and speak to us in many ways... so here is a hint of my appreciation.. here is my list of my favorite video game characters: sketch turner was dope because he was a comic book artist who got trapped in one of his own comics i like that sketch turner is a real person with a real job.. and not only that, but he has a 'cool' job.. a creative job.. and then he gets pulled into his own world and has to fight his way out of it.. its fictional but also kinda deep if you think about it his fashion sense was fly too.. and he had a real like.. human side.. he was never supposed to be a hero but at the same time he is able to protect and serve like a G part of the human side also was his compassion for his pet rat and also for the girl in the story.. he was just so ill.. one of the best most dynamic characters ever.. in a sense i'm glad he only had one game because i'd hate to see him ruined the way some other characters are sketch had enough depth to be made into a lot more than just video games ++++++ nights is probably the most mysterious video game character of all time when i first played nights i was so drawn to it for the mystery and wonder that emanated from the game nights is androgynous which kinda blew my mind but at the same time it worked for a few reasons one reason it worked was because nights never spoke in the game.. if nights had a male or female voice it would ruin the whole androgyny thing the other reason it worked was because nights was real yet not real.. nights existed in the night, in dreams and nightmares, however those dreams and nightmares represented actual reality.. you have to conquer your nightmares to live the dreams.. nights is basically like a physical spirit or an entity deep ish ++++++ i never played this game, but i always wanted it when i was a kid looking back.. rocket knight is just as- or even more cool than i thought he has a cuteness factor along with a bravery factor that i love i think if they ever make a sonic the hedgehog movie, sonic should be portrayed kinda in the same way rocket knight is portrayed.. cute yet brave.. kinda like a more smart/human version of pikachu knight = bravery rocket = modern/cool/action possum character = cute/fun ^enough said look the game up on sega genesis and u'll see how dope it looks btw rocket knight's name is sparkster ++++++ sakura man.. wow.. almost nothing compares to when i first saw sakura she was in street fighter alpha 2.. her whole image, style, and story was just mindblowing you have a tournament of adult fighters but sakura was a 15 year old girl in high school who entered the contest!!! she kinda had two sides.. one very goofy 15 year old side and an alternate "i'm a dedicated fighter thirsty for more knowledge" side this dynamic was just amazing to me she was also gorgeous in street fighter alpha in her school girl outfit and short hair all her opening and closing animations spoke volumes like when she'd enter a fight she'd run into the match like she was late for the fight due to juggling school and fighting and a social life at the end of a match sometimes she'd scream and kick her leg but her shoe would fly off and hit her in the head LOL !!!!! ^perfect !! ++++++ 3 dirty dwarves WOW .. this game had 3 main characters and they were all dope!!! one used a shotgun, one used bowling balls, and the other used a baseball bat these guys were just amazing.. the whole humorous and violent cartoon/comic book style of this game was just.. incredible name off any sort of semi violent game or cartoon and these guys trump them like say if you compared them to ninja turtles.. they make tmnt look like GARBAGE.. these guys lived within a d&d type game.. and they were transferred from the game into the real world and they brought their humor and craziness with them! in the opening credits of this game they literally ripped guys guts out of their throats and sliced guys with swords until they were in so many pieces that it was like confetti and to think this was THREE dope characters!!! and the dynamics between them made everything that much better! ++++++ koops.. man this character is HILARIOUS!!!! he is a koopa but in paper mario the thousand year door, he wasn't an enemy, he was a friend he was afraid of everything! everything he said was so absurd and hilarious.. you just have to play paper mario the thousand year door to really understand how amazing he is as a character that game in general was just so funny, cute, and quirky and koops was like the epitome of those things ++++++ clockwork knight gets very little props in the industry, but man.. he was dope!!! what i liked about clockwork knight is he was a latin hero who was valiant and chivalrous.. he was like a video game version of don quixote the fact that he was latin and the game had latin music by itself gave it a cool culture factor.. also you have to remember.. clockwork knight was the first to use a keyblade!!! he would put a key in something and crank it up until it exploded.. he was just dope.. silent but expressive there were so many dynamics to him as a character in his environment he was latin.. he was a knight.. he had a key for a sword.. he was a toy.. he rode on a 'toy' horse (i put that in parentheses because all the toys were alive in the game) clockwork knight was just very inspired.. he was such a creative character you couldn't help but appreciate him ok those are all my top favorite video game characters check these games out if you haven't already so you can see what i'm talking about these characters are just so cool and fun that they make you wish you could meet them and hang out with them in their world!!! i've had people say to me
"you make good beats but u shouldn't rap because of your voice" to me that is stupid lol if ja rule can sound like a rapping frog then why can't i rap? you may not be used to my voice and the way i enunciate or maybe u just don't like the way i sound on a personal level but to say i shouldn't rap in my opinion is stupid i've never been phased by this sort of talk i always would just be like "wow that was an unintelligent statement" in my view, these people sometimes are affected by society and what is spoon-fed to them on tv and in various media.. so whenever a thing seems to deviate from that pigeon-hole view then "it sucks" in other words.. if i don't sound like something they've already heard, then i shouldn't exist i said all that to say this: in general i think artists and visionaries would be better off if they thought my way by "my way" i mean.. not caring what people are saying.. not letting it phase you honestly who would want every rapper to sound the same anyway? how would it make any kind of sense to say that anything outside the box is automatically wack? it would obviously make the art form redundant so for my artists and visionaries out there.. remember when people say negative things to u, just brush it off as nonsense.. because ur the one in the driver's seat here's a link to the tim dog episode in full on the msnbc website
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032600/#47837803 the episode is called "the perfect catch" its really good! here are my final thoughts i want to put out after watching this: #1. tim dog is completely chauvinist .. like FOR REAL chauvinist lol.. i've always seen men be accused of being chauvinist and i've seen men accused of being womanizers when they're really not.. but tim dog REALLY IS CHAUVINIST when i say that, i mean from any point of view.. whether ur a feminist or a men's rights activist.. tim dog is a chauvinist LOL #2. once it was all over at the end one of the women said this as a general statement: "your heart doesn't have a brain" lol.. no, YOUR heart doesn't have a brain this is one difference i find between men and women.. a man will look at a potential relationship objectively, but women just go ga-ga once they meet a guy and they end up making irrational decisions i am not bashing women this is just true.. its like how people say women aren't logical they are emotional.. that is true to an extent for example i went out with a girl once right.. this was the only time we had spent any time together.. after our date i dropped her off and she called me (not even kidding) like 5 minutes after she went inside i hadn't even gotten back on the freeway yet ! she was saying "i miss you already and i can see myself with you" and all this stuff.. i'm thinking.. WOW- cuz we spent like an hour or two together and she's talking like we need to get married and its not a diss this is just where some women make mistakes.. a lot of guys may use your eagerness against you try to hold your horses a bit you know what i mean? you get some attention and you're ready to go from 0 to 60.. you are susceptible to whatever, you are gullible and then you wonder why things don't end up in your favor.. its because you're throwing all your cards on the table first round this (again) is not a diss, just game for any women who may possibly read this.. add it to your wisdom/knowledge base and you will be ahead of the pack not saying don't love but be wise about things.. try to look objectively (if you tend to find yourself in negative situations w/ men) i do not condone men taking advantage of women! i'm just letting you know some guys will use what you want against you so there's something i am looking out for on dateline
u guys probably don't know him but there's a rapper named tim dog from the early 90s he has allegedly been scamming women he meets on dating sites he is now being investigated on dateline this episode is kindof a 'must-see' to me because it has a few of my favorite elements online dating, and music/artists.. add scam into the mix and it just sounds interesting imo if ur interested try to watch the msnbc channel.. this episode debuted yesterday so i'm expecting it to come on again soon man why do black people dress like this? and yeah i know its not all black people.. but some do you see them wearing racing jackets with m&ms characters on them or you see them riding in cars with company logos, like mcdonalds or something i've noticed a lot of black people don't wear clothes they wear OUTFITS.. meaning instead of wearing a shirt with some jeans, they wear a shirt that matches their shoes, that matches their hat, that matches something else when you wear an OUTFIT, you DO NOT LOOK COOL bro, you look like you're wearing a costume.. you literally look like you're trying too hard.. and this is not a diss at all.. i'm just telling the truth if too many of your clothes match you begin to look ridiculous.. my advice to these people who dress like this is.. you can still have fun with your style or whatever but be more subtle with it also one last thing i want to say is remember when you are so gung-ho about a certain brand or a certain character or logo, you are buying into an illusion.. i'm not against fashion but remember your identity should overshadow your clothing and not the other way around i shouldn't look at you and say "hey, there's the tru-religion guy!" or "hey there's the guy with the bart simpson shoes!" but whatever.. maybe i'll start a new series on here.. maybe when i see people with really jacked up outfits i can take pics of them with my phone i'll keep a lookout.. lol this could be fun |
