your apathy is lame Posted by poolboyjames on May 9, 2010 at 3:06 AM comments (0)i have noticed it seems like whenever i mention my passion for music to some people it is met with incredible apathy
like my parents for example, if i say anything about music they never respond, its like they just turn off the problem with this is its like they have no real respect or regard for this thing that i love.. like they treat it with a certain disdain its like they hate the fact that i love music but instead of saying that outloud they just sit quietly hoping i change the subject i think u should build people up instead of meet their greatest passions with apathy like if one of my friends had a goal to be on jeopardy, i would tell them they can do it and encourage them and help them feel like they are able to achieve that goal. i wouldn't tell them that its a stupid goal.. and i wouldn't just leave them hanging.. because at the end of the day.. even if i don't particularly like their goal or plan.. AT LEAST THEY HAVE A POSITIVE GOAL, u know what i'm sayin? i hate the fact that i feel so like.. invalidated.. like i don't havesupport from the people i care about the most sometimes this is one reason why i try to encourage everyone around me.. because i know what its like to just not have support or encouragement for something u enjoy why can't i ever get a "james that's neat that u learned all this stuff about recording" or a "i like this song" or a "i'm happy to see u have a passion" u feel what i'm saying? whatever tho its nothing to be upset over, i have people who DO support me and i try to appreciate them to the fullest.. as for everyone else, i suppose some people are just going to be cynics and skeptics no matter what so its whatever peaCe
