one thing i've noticed is a lot of biracial people deal with a great deal of racism
my biracial cousin came to chill here for a bit and my sister's husband for some reason thought it would be ok to bash white people in front of him i think my cousin is less than half white, but still my sister's husband was saying some ignorant stuff that i felt was embarassing, beyond that.. my cousin was dating a white girl at the time i didn't understand why my sister's husband thought it would be ok to be badmouthing white people 1. at all 2. to a person he just met and 3. to a person who has some white in them ------- i know another biracial person, who is female and she looks white for the most part.. she is always telling me how white people badmouth black people in front of her like all the time and it gets on her nerves, like she doesn't understand why people badmouth a whole race ------- so what i learned from all this is that biracial people deal with the most racism its like black people think "ur on our side so i can talk bad about whites to u" and white people think "ur on our side so i can talk bad about blacks to u" and sometimes u have a biracial person who looks like one race and people show their ignorance by saying something like "i'd never be friends with a 'blank' person." all the while not knowing that the person they are telling this is in fact 50% 'blank' see, i'm black and so white people who are racist avoid me, or they talk bad behind my back, or they ignore me, or they have a certain belief about me, but with me looking and being 100% black, they don't say anything to my face what i'm saying is, biracial people have all the hate and negativity and ignorance said directly to their face, and oftentimes the people making these negative comments don't even think the biracial person should be offended, because after all "they're one of us" ------ well i have a newsflash biracial people don't have to choose sides and when u say something negative about another race to one of them, or to ANYONE all you do is show your own ignorance if u want to carry on judging people by their skin color that's fine but the truth is u will only be limiting yourself in the end
