there's a black girl at my job who came into work wearing a sleeveless shirt and she had a confederate flag tattooed on her arm
i was shocked i was like "you have a confederate flag on your arm?" she said "well kinda, its red black and green though" (she was dark skinned, i couldn't tell it was red black and green when i saw it) now even though she said it was red black and green i have to admit i still thought it was madd stupid and my first reaction was just to bust out laughing because the absurdity of a black person getting red black and green confederate flag tattooed on their arm was like.. its like something u'd see in a chris rock movie or something i restrained myself from laughing, so as not to hurt her feelings but that was hilarious

i decided to talk about my favorite rock lyricist
please notice i did not say frontman (which would entail a person's aura, style, etc) i said lyricist now, a lot of rock has garbage lyrics, some people would probably disagree with me but it is just the truth, oftentimes when i listen to rock i hear a song that could mean something significant or could mean nothing at all.. but that is the problem.. ONLY THE ACTUAL PERSON WHO WROTE IT KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS! in rock a lot of times they just say things that have no connection like (i'm gonna make something up) a fly on the wall my stomach is hurting i look to the sky everything is working if an artist explains something like this and explains the connection then i can accept it and respect it, but if u are just saying things like that and u never explain it then i write it off as what it sounds like.. mindless babble so who is my fave rock lyricist? steve harwell from smash mouth listen to any of their songs from any of their albums and each song actually has a clear lyrical point and direction.. and he is quite clever like on all-star for example he said this: its a cool place and they say it gets colder/ ur bundled up now, wait til u get older/ but the media men beg to differ/ judging by the hole in the satellite picture/ the ice we skate is gettin pretty thin/ the water's gettin warm so u might as well swim/ my world's on fire, how about yours?/ just the way i like it and i'll never get bored/ did u take all that in? what he said there carried a LOT of weight this sort of content is wrapped up in a happy poppy sounding song think about that. also he really matches the songs perfectly as far as vocal harmony, melody, versatility, etc. so that's my pick.. in my opinion he's way ahead of most of the pack in rock sooooo there ya go peeeeaCe i recently learned how to freestyle.. i always found it to be an amazing talent, but through practice i learned that there is actually a bit of a technique to it
the main rule i learned is that u have to constantly be thinking forward to what ur going to say next, i think what threw me off was i would say something and while i was rapping i would wonder if it made sense or not, or wonder how people around me took what i said.. but if ur doin all that then ur thinking too much. and as a result u are most likely going to fail or grind to a halt so basically when u freestyle u just focus your mind to locate dope rhymes and just delete everything else from your mind.. in a sense the work is in getting as lost in words as humanly possible. its like the less u think about other things, the more brain power u have for your focus if someone would have explained this to me a long time ago i may have freestyled more often over the years because previous to learning this technique, it was kindof a difficult (seemingly impossible) task, but with this technique, everything becomes much simpler i was also thinking this technique could apply to life oftentimes u fail or mess up or something or something seems difficult but if we think forward at all times and stay focused on our goals then we could recover from negative situations in no time like if u don't have a job for example are you going to allow what the news says about the economy to trip up your job search? or r u gonna stay in your own lane and move forward? its kinda even like the israelites in the bible, they were in the wilderness, and their task was to escape the wilderness and make it into the promised land.. but instead of staying focused on their goal, they allowed a negative report to scare them and an 11 day journey turned into a 40 year trek so yeah.. freestyling in theory has taught me how to block unnecessary things out and it has taught me how to recover from mistakes and odd situations quickly in order to move forward to a goal ZONE OUT and ZERO IN! ok so since this is the 1st one let me give some background info.
i had a blog before on blogspot however i decided to make a newer and less personal blog, so i deleted the old one and came here this site seems cool so far, so i hope everything pans out i am beginning this website at a very late (so late, its early) hour.. so i'll pass on writing for now because i think i'll be a bit better when wide awake so thanks for comin to my site and peaCe 4 now! |
