so, i saw a dr. phil with a woman who fraudulently lied about her kids school district in order to get them into a "better" school
i guess "better" is supposed to mean like.. the school curriculum gets u more prepared for college than the surrounding schools.. since everything is based on standardized tests today- i guess the "better" school is great at cranking out robotic people? whatever... anyway, this is a loaded topic in my opinion so i am going to try and keep this short as opposed to the 80 page dissertation that is floating around in my head ok what was this woman's sin? i'd say the 10th commandment.. thou shall not covet thou shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor if your neighbor lives in a good school district and u don't then that's just what it is.. the world isn't fair but Christians are supposed to seek God's help and not try to FORCE things into fairness with deceptive practices like there are many situations where u could take from someone else simply because they seemingly have more than you like say there's a kid who doesn't have a dad in his life and he got nothing for Christmas then there's a kid with both parents and he got a bike for Christmas the kid with no dad shouldn't go up to the other kid and steal his bike and justify it by saying "ur fortunate and i don't have anything so it is fair for me to take your bike" nah.. dnt work like that at the end of the day the Bible says we are supposed to hold our neighbors as higher than ourselves.. meaning seek to give the advantage as opposed to taking it, and then trust God to work out the details... here's an example: So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives. Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.” Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD. ^genesis 13:8-13 what happened here is Abram said let's split up, and instead of seeking to take the advantage, he gave it.. he said "there are 2 places to live.. choose the one u want and i'll take the other one" Lot took the one that looked really good, and Abram took the other one and Christians already know the end of this story at the end of the day God greatly blessed Abram's area and ended up destroying Lot's area.. so just because something looks good doesn't mean it IS good all the time.. at the end of the day we need to do what God tells us to do and not just what we want to do now this woman who was sending her kids to this school district fraudulently is facing jail time what made her look worse in my opinion was the fact that her dad lived in that "better" school district.. so if she just would've moved in with her dad they would've been cool.. so to me, she had a way to get her kids in there legitimately, but just didn't face it.. the world is not fair.. period.. people are stupid, racist, classist, hateful, arrogant, impolite, the list goes on.. but don't put ur hope in people or in the systems of the world, instead put it in God ur best bet is just to work with what u have to the best of ur ability and to conduct urself righteously under God and let Him fight your battles for you coveting and trying to achieve what u want through deception is unwise and can lead to destruction again, do what God says to do and trust that He will work it out for you in the end who knows, maybe that "better" school will one day have a columbine incident and the other school won't.. u never know i feel like this world is not fair, but there is no loss involved when u play by God's rules.. u may feel like ur gettin the short end of the stick at first, but He'll make sure u come out on top in the end
